i’ve never really looked at faragasso or vilppu’s books, tbh! just googled them and they seem to be strong resources though.
vilppu’s book sounds especially interesting, apparently it focuses a lot on the figure drawn from imagination since he has a background in animation
personally though i downloaded and printed out andrew loomis’ “figure drawing for all it’s worth"
when i was studying it, i started to really see an improvement in my understanding of the figure. some of his work can seem a little stiff and lifeless at times, but its still a good foundation
also if you want to just learn stronger drawing techniques in general, consider taking a drawing class! a lot of community colleges have great drawing 1 & 2 classes that can really help with drawing confidently and all sorts of skills

im out of practice
digital art has been feeling kind of foreign recently
ok i settled on a color scheme i liked, thanks to all of your suggestions. tweaked some of his design (fetlocks, how did i forget), and tried to figure out his proportions
so yeah here he is. i realize that he’s got the same name as my pony art pen-name, but he’s not supposed to be “me.” its all just for fun.
